The overall theme of the shoes is inspired by the album cover of Guns N Roses’ debut album “Appetite for Destruction” which reached No. 1 on the United States Billboard 200 and sold 27 million copies worldwide. Incidentally, “Appetite for Destruction” was released in the same year as the Nintendo video game Skate or Die [Nike Dunk Low Pro SB – Skate or Die (Black / Neon Yellow)] giving us the implication of Nike’s tribute to the American scene in 1987. They show some love to the 1986 Skateboarding Arcade Classic 720 Degrees. 720 Degrees released in 1986 by Atari, and is one of the first skater games.
